One Last Beginning

Season 3 of Marble Hornets, the final one for real this time, has officially started. Keeping updates regular should be a little bit easier this time around. I'm finally done with school and Joseph has a really flexible work schedule. Tim, well, not so much, but at least we're not having to work around all three of our weird schedules for once.

We have some pretty awesome stuff lined up for this season. One entry in particular I'm incredibly anxious to have done because I love the idea so much. No details, of course, but I've got some high hopes.

In Season 2, we really tried to get a little more character development with Jay and Alex. Mostly for Jay, because I felt that he was really just a walking tripod in Season 1. I think we even referred to him as "The Gordon Freeman" back then or something. So for the final season, as you may have guessed by now, we're going to attempt to flesh out Tim a little more. Tim (the "real" Tim) has some pretty good acting chops, so I feel it would be kind of a waste to not give him the chance to speak (and to an extent, do) more. He's a dedicated guy, so I'm sure he can handle all the stuff that's coming.

Thanks for waiting through the break, everyone. It's good to be back.

  2. Thank YOU, Troy. We will really miss Marble Hornets when it's over.

  3. Nope. Not the last one. There will be more, if not here, then at LEAST a spiritual successor. You guys rock at this too much to 'move on' after this story.

  4. I am so excited to see how you continue to flesh out this story, yet sad to see it coming to an end. But, I know that you all will definitely give it an ending it deserves, with the dedication and hard work you've shown us in the past (yes, even with all the goofing off you mention in the commentaries ;) ) I know the ending will blow us all away. Thanks for the ride so far, to everyone who worked on it. I'm sticking here till the end! And I'll still be around when you move on to new things as well.

  5. Seriously can't wait to see how the ending goes. I question whether slenderman and totheark will just go away, or will everyone involved just end up missing or dead? It can go either way at this point and I'm excited for whatever actually does happen

    1. Come now, those are so obvious. Troy's too smart for that. Prepare to have your brain raped with plot twists.

  6. I am so excited. Mister Wagner, for the record, I am a huge fan of your collective storytelling and writing, and damn if your cinematography doesn't make it even more compelling. Part 2 was my favourite part of the story so far, with the huge focus on telling the story rather than simply being scary. It was refreshing and amazing.

And I cannot wait to see where you go with this.

  7. I loved the first entry of S3! I'm definitely fine with Marble Hornets ending after this season, but I hope that you keep working on horror because you have a talent for it.

I hope you lay the paranoia and tension pretty thick for this season. When I watch the first season even the moments where there's just loud distortion unnerve me a little. I really like season two and it had a lot of excitement, but the first season did paranoia and horror much better in my opinion.

The last season was around two and a half hours, so if this season manages to be an hour longer and you focus a little more on horror, then that should be enough to satisfy all the fans. Well, there will always be nitpickers, but you will probably make something later on that will blow the entirety of Marble Hornets out of the water! Good luck!

  8. I'm a little sad that it is in it's last season but I know that whatever you guys do afterwards it will be absolutely great. :)

  9. Please make this season longer than 26 entries! And at least a vague explanation of why The Operator is after you guys, please? Also, I think I speak for everyone when I ask you to please not give The Operator an origin story.

    1. You don't speak for everyone. I for one hope we get at least more hints like Entry 38, that way it leaves a little of it up to interpretation. Heck, I wouldn't even mind knowing everything, but if you're talking about Tim or Alex standing there for five minutes blabbing exposition...then I agree with you, I would hate that.

  11. Mr. Wagner, your series is without a doubt the scariest thing I've ever seen in my life. And I am an avid film buff that's seen many a horror flicks. I have decided to be more vocal this season and interact with Jay via twitter as often as I can. You've probably already received some of my outlandish tweets. Anyways, I wish you well in this final season, as well as in your next film endeavor. Ciao Troy. ;)

  12. Troy, Marble Hornets is a legacy. It will be legend, as far as I'm concerned. You guys have done an amazing job so far and deserve so much more. I try to get people to watch the series, but it scares them to much! Excellent horror and Slenderman portrayal. I will hold this series dear to my heart for years to come.

  13. I just saw "Reminder", and it was great. I really hope this season has a little more totheark, I was left unsatisfied last season.

  14. I will actually kinda sad when MH is over.

Thanks for being the only thing that i will let give me nightmares (and falling asleep with screwdriver when the hallway light bulb blew out.) because of the story.

Keep up the good work and keep doing things like this, makes my day when they happen. :)

  15. I'm excited for this season, but it's sad it'll all be over soon :(

I ordered a DVD soon after it was released and I haven't gotten it yet. I only live in Florida and the season 1 DVD didn't take as long. Should I be worried or patient? :(

  16. I'm actually really bummed that this is the last season, I'm a huge fan. But, I did do an introduction to the series for our campus paper so I can't wait to follow that up with a season 3 review. Thank you guys for all your hardwork, it's made an absolute masterpiece.

  20. I know marble hornets will be ending, and nobody is going to like that. You should make a new series!

  21. The end of Marble Hornets is bound to be bittersweet. One the one hand, the series will have come to a close ... but on the other, you guys will still be making videos, and you'll (hopefully) finally be able reveal some more behind the scenes MH stuff. I'm dying to know the evolution of your Operator costume/prop/whatever it ultimately turns out to be.
